Since Orvis joined us as a Founding Partner over a year ago, our efforts to protect rivers and waterways have been amplified. Their support has enabled us to expand our reach and ignite hundreds of people's passion for environmental conservation. Together Orvis and Protect Our Rivers have collaborated on impactful cleanup efforts to remove trash from rivers and streams and helped educate people along the way.

Protect Our Rivers is increasing the magnitude and impact of cleanup events, thanks to partners like Orvis. Last July, we hosted our first cleanup with Orvis and picked up a mile stretch of Cherry Creek, collecting 400 pounds of trash with the help of 40 volunteers. Our second event was even bigger, and we set the record for the number of pounds of trash picked up (1,246 lbs) at a single on-land cleanup event. We've already done two cleanups this season that together had over 500 people in attendance.
Giving back to nonprofit organizations like Protect Our Rivers has been at the forefront of Orvis' mission since day one. Orvis commits 5% of pre-tax profits to protect nature. In the past three years, their Great Giveback Days program has raised over one million dollars for many nonprofit organizations.
